Jackson was born and raised in the mountains of Colorado. he grew up in a small town with not much to do, so he listened to music all the time. Jackson was listening to music if he was doing chores or riding his bike. One day, he found his Dad's old Sony Walkman, and the tape inside was Aerosmith’s greatest hits. Every day, he played that tape up until it burnt out. Throughout his schooling, Jackson played percussion in the school band, learning the basics of drumming like rudiments. He then took that to playing in a folk-rock band with his Dad. That still was not enough music for him. Many nights, he would go to sleep listening to a classic rock record or looking up videos of John Bonham. Once Jackson was nearing the end of high school, he was lost in what he wanted to do with his life. Jackson had not applied to any colleges or looked at any jobs yet. One day, after a live show, an audience member pulled him aside and told him that he had an amazing talent, that he should chase his passion, and if so, he would never work a day in his life. Jackson went home to think about what he would want to do for the rest of his life. He applied to an audio engineering school in Arizona, CRAS, and got accepted. Jackson spent nine months of intense studies learning all facets of the audio industry. After he graduated, Jackson moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to begin an internship at Treasure Isle recording studio. Jackson still works there to this day, expanding his knowledge of audio engineering and musicianship.
